UPW/WWT Facilities Engineer - New College Grad

Position Title: Facilities UPW/WWT Engineer

Summary of Role :
GLOBAL FOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to oversee the design, construction, startup and ongoing operations of our Waste Water Treatment Operations in support of our 300mm Wafer Fabrication facility. In addition to the startup, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and continuous improvements to our Waste Water Treatment Systems and ensuring regulatory compliance with all City, State, and Federal guidelines. The Facilities Engineer will be heavily engaged with choosing suppliers, negotiations and helping gain the best value for our investment and internal customers (Fab Operations). The individual will report to the Fab 8 Sr. Manager Ultra-Pure & Waste Water and will be located at GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 in Malta, New York.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Successfully complete all of the duties required by the Systems Owner for select Waste Water Treatment Systems including monitoring SAP PM, SPC and continuous improvement projects to improve safety, reliability and reduce operating costs
  • Develop, implement and sustain preventative maintenance programs as required to sustain the operations of all Waste Treatment Systems
  • Develop, implement and sustain SPC system to ensure constant uptime of all the systems within the Waste Water Treatment areas
  • Review and approve Design Packages as required to increase capacity, support process changes and improve reliability
  • Review and approve all new installations following the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 Commissioning Process
  • Develop and implement Operational Readiness activities for all new installations to ensure new equipment is integrated into the existing control and maintenance systems
  • Closely interface with the Tool Installation Team to assign point of use valve assignments and to coordinate the utility turn on process
  • Closely interface with the Fab Operations Team to ensure all Waste Treatment systems successfully enable the Fab to process products per design and review/approve new product chemistries
  • Maintain all critical compliance detection points to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal permits working closely with the Environmental Health & Safety Team
  • Provide technical direction to technicians and contractors as required to support of the operations including advanced troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Support additional initiatives as required to support the operations of the Fab 8 facility
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor???s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
  • Dynamic, resourceful self-starter with good analytical, organizational, leadership skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using structured problem solving techniques and lean tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Available and willing to flex work hours as needed to support emergency operational issues
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master???s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with semiconductor waste water treatment operations
  • Advanced experience with SPC and SAP systems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
